Little Boutique

I'm going to have my stuff at a little boutique in Salt Lake on February 11th from 11-2. I won't be there, so you don't have to feel any pressure to come and buy. There will also be some really cute jewelry and other stuff so if you want to find something for Valentines Day, you should come. I will post the address in a week or so. You can also check out my blog on the right to see what I will have.

Where is Easton hiding?

PEEK-A-BOO!!
There is a reason there are no books on this shelf of the bookcase. Easton would just pull them all out. So, instead he likes to climb in.

Going Private...and update on the "accidents"

Well, I had a cute pic of Creigh is his boxer briefs showing he had potty power again, but Mitch refuses to allow me to post the picture until I go private. What do you think? Anyway, Mitch just shouted, "it doesn't matter what they think." So I guess we are going private. If you would like to included on our blog, PLEASE send me your email address. I really have not wanted to go private but Mitch has been pressuring me for years now. Mitch wants you all to still look and you don't have to feel like you know us really well to gain access, we are just trying to avoid perverts. Ok, so I guess if we just know you kinda well and you are a pervert, you're not invited....I hope none of you are though. So, if I don't get a request from you I will assume you're a pervert so you better send me your email addresss. Jk

Back to the ongoing battle between Creighton and the potty. I have some good news to report! It's about time, right? He really wanted to start wearing underwear 3 days ago and against my better judgement I let him. He wet his pants one time the whole day. Next day...no accidents. Today, one more "accident." I was quite upset, but I think it might have clicked after that because he started doing it all on his own again. I know it's hopeful, but I'm hoping.

My baby is walking!

Easton has been walking for about a week now. He still is very unstable, but he is walking a lot more and using it more as his main mode of transportation. When he gets really excited he walks with his arms straight up in the air. It's pretty funny. Too bad I don't have that on tape. Here is a very poorly made video....mainly for my mom.

The Zoo

I know I have posted a dozen pictures of us at the zoo, but I am posting this also to prove that I did leave the house (doesn't happen much anymore). There was no one there because no one else was going to go there when it was 20 degrees--warm for us though so it was a great time to go. My kids got to feel a real tiger's skin, whiskers, teeth and all. Very fun and great to get out!

9:30 a.m.

I truly believe that you know if it's going to be a bad or good day by 9:30 a.m. Today....I'm going to go with not so good.

I am having trouble understanding why no one can control their bodily functions. In fact, I am just thankful I am not pregnant right now or I may be involved in this blog post as well.

-I come up from running to find a huge pee puddle right inside the bathroom door. Apparently Jackson couldn't get the light on and couldn't see where he was or something. Not his fault, moving on.

-Go to get Easton out, his room is filled with the nasty poop aroma ever. It is a blow-out. Gross.

-Creighton convinces me that he is a big boy and he does not want to wear a pull up. I consent to him putting on Spiderman underwear after we have a lengthy conversation about how Spiderman does not want to get dirty or wet. He assures me he will only go in the potty.

-5 minutes later Creighton goes potty in the toilet. Yahoo!

-1 hour later I walk down in the basement to smell the foul smell from Easton's room again. This time it is not Easton. Creighton not only got Spiderman dirty but it was so wet and dirty that Spiderman will never be able to recover and Spiderman now has been laid to rest in our outside dumpster. After showering Creighton off with cold water (sorry dude, I had just taken my shower and that was all that was left), he is back in a pull up.

My thoughts: If all this has happened before 9:30 maybe it doesn't necessarily mean it will be a bad day. Maybe it can't get any worse and it will end up being a good day. Yeah, not so sure but we can hope. Wish me luck.

Potty Update

I have pretty much given up. After an awful week of him purposely going to the bathroom in his pants 3-4 times a day, I was done. I scoured the internet for help and many of the sites said not to push him and so he is now in pull-ups. We'll try again when he is 3. Maybe he will mature in one month....Yeah, probably not.

Leprechaun, Mickey Mouse, and Cereal

This looks like a photoshop picture, but it's an actual hat we found at Babys'r'us.
Yeah, don't ask.

Tiny Shirts for Big People

I couldn't find an undershirt for Jack yesterday, and since it was just an undershirt I put one on that was a little too small. It was just going under his sweater so it wouldn't be a big deal. However, he come home looking like this:

He said he got hot so he took his sweater off at school. His underwear also was having issues too, so he was basically mooning everyone too. I surprised I didn't get a call from the school making me aware of dress code violations.

Of couse, since I took Jack's picture, the other boys needed their's taken as well.

P.S.

Not long after my previous post Creighton wet his pants. He was sitting watching curious George maybe 20 feet away. I only found out he had done out he had done it when he went in for dinner and his pants were wet. He could care less. I told h I was going to put a diaper on him and he laid down. Tomorrow is another day.

Potty Training Update

So, today is going well with Creighton. I made this ugly potty chart with the always loved STICKERS and it seems to be working today. He's back on track, for the meantime.

On the otherhand, Creighton must have been getting all the attention and Jackson must have been feeling left out. So....he has faught back with potty power the way he knows how. For more information on Jackson's potty struggles back in the day, check out my blog back in July 2008 called, "The Trying Threes." For a quick synopsis of that post, I will tell you that Jackson didn't have a problem going to the bathroom in his pants like Creighton. Instead, Jackson would find various containers around the house to go to the bathroom in. Well, he at it again. I went to take the garbage out downstairs and there was some yellow liquid in the liner. Weird, but figured it was from a capri sun or something. However, I asked Creighton about it hours later and you could just see the guilt oozing out of Jackson's face as I grilled Creighton. After his confession I sat dumbfounded which I still am as I write. Why? Why? Why?

For more potty adventures, tune in next time to "Where the Poop and Pee Should Turn." Til next time, farewell.

Accidents Happen and That's O.K.

No, Elmo. Accidents are not O.K. That's because 2 year olds don't know what accidents are.

Ok, I should probably back up and explain. Creighton watched this Elmo potty video where they sing this song that says, "Accidents happen and that's OK." Creighton has taken this a little far. He has been doing great with potty training and has had very few accidents. However, in the last 2 days, he has rarely gone in the toilet and he is not having accidents. It is all on purpose. How many times have you accidently pushed poop into your pants? Exactly, it doesn't happen. He doesn't care that he does it, smiles when we find out, and then sings, "Accidents happen and that's OK." Today, he even took it to mean that coloring all over the couch is an accident and OK. Yeah, I am going to be writing Elmo a letter to explain that 2 year olds and using his song as a manipulative tool. Not cool.

We have taught Creighton a new song, "Accidents happen and that's NOT O.K."

I have the sound clips I can text to you if anyone wants to hear him singing the song. I couldn't figure out how ot put it on here.

Swimming for Grandma and Grandpa's B-day

Finally, the last post of our pictures from UT. Not much has happened since then....just a ton of cold weather. No worries, today we are getting 6 inches of snow (a lot for here) and then tomorrow we will have 40 mph winds blowing it around and bringing our temperatures to NEGATIVE 35 DEGREES. Yeah, I don't love these pictures, but it does make me think of the warmth we felt at the pool we went to.

New Year's Eve

I love New Year's Eve! My dad throws a party called "Big Jim's Rockin' New Year's Eve" and we play the best card game ever called Nerts with lots of prizes and fun. Before the festivities could begin we decided to have a "Mock-Midnight Countdown." We got out the pots and pans and counted down and celebrated with the boys so then they would be willing to go to sleep. It was fun.
Afterwards we sang to my parents and had cake.
My sister started a bath to put Beckham in and when she stepped out the room to get Beckham, she came back to find E sitting in the tub in his pajamas. P.S. this was the 2nd time in 2 nights he did this. I think he must really like the bath.

Cousins

Here are a bunch of pics of E and Beck together. They were hilarious to watch. They would steal each other's binkies, hats, and toys. I think it's the start of a great friendship.

Catching up with Friends

When we go to Utah we not only get lucky to see all our family, but sometimes we even get to catch up with friends. This trip we didn't get to see many, it was too short. However, we did catch up with the Goates and the Newmans (no pictures:() on a VERY chilly evening down at Temple Square. It was a lot of fun and even though it was only for about 45 minutes, it was great to see them and let Jack and Creigh see their old buddy Ben.

Creighton wanted to see this statue and he wanted his picture taken. He pretty much butted in front of everyone else and just stood there until his picture was taken. I was embarrassed so I didn't try to get him to smile or anything because I was trying to pretend that I didn't know who that kid was. JK

The Evers Family all together at last

Even though Mitch didn't get really any time off, we felt a big push to go because it was the first time his family was going to be together in a long time. On Christmas night we went to Classic where we played all night long. It was so fun. We even turned off all the lights in the place and played a giant game of "Lights Out" in the inflatables. Here we all are all together (we have everyone here but Marcus and Kayli who took a last minute trip to Australia, but all the brothers and sister and parents were there)

Christmas Morning

Can you see the coveted marbles?
If you guessed under the hat, you were right.
P.S. The marbles (Mitch drove around all over to find actual play marbles) cost $2.50....but the bags (real leather) were $5.50. We seriously didn't need to get them anything else, but the truth was, I hate them playing with them, so it was good to get them other things to distract them.

The boys about to go down the stairs...youngest to oldest. E got a headstart.

Creighton with his new hat and showing us he got "2 marbles"

They are so happy! It was a great Christmas!
I only wish my kids could be that easy to shop for every year.

The Christmas Pajamas

Every Christmas Eve Santa drops off Christmas pajamas at my parents house and then we sit around and pose for a billion pictures. Here are the pictures from this photo shoot.
This Christmas Eve we were given "Onesies." That is what my sister called them at least. She was disgusted, but maybe me just getting old, I like night gowns now. Sure, they aren't flattering by any means, but I still liked them.

This picture was taken Christmas Day morning since Jordan and Melyn weren't able to make it for Christmas Eve. My point is...don't judge.
