Lately, Jackson has been really into Superheroes, namely: Spiderman, Batman, and Superman. About 2 weeks ago, we were sitting in Church and Jackson was eating some Batman fruit snacks. Mitch told him if he ate them, he might turn into Batman. A few minutes later, Jackson looked down at his arms and noticed his veins (veins are the blackish blue color as you know). He got the biggest eyes and he told Mitch, "Daddy, I'm turning into Batman." He was so excited and just kept finding more and more veins and declaring he was turning into Batman. Then today, on the way to church, Jackson noticed he had red markings all over his hands. I knew immediately they were from the red pen he had been using to color with not very long before. However, he did not. His eyes got really big again and he said, "Now I am turning into Spiderman." As he kept gazing at them for a while, he did finally declare, "Maybe they're from a red marker? I'm not turning into Spiderman." We agreed with him on this.
Although my son may be turning into a superhero, he has not been able to withstand the illnesses that attack him. He has been sick for a while and complained about his ear hurting, but after him waking up every 20 minutes or so last night whimpering about his ear, I did take him to the Dr. today and he has a very nasty ear infection. He doesn't have Superman's ability to heal himself, but we are grateful for antibiotics and I am sure in a day or two he will be back to being a superhero....whichever one is his favorite for the day.

Get Ready to be Flooded with Pictures
But not yet....here are just a few.
I just had the boys pictures taken this last week and they turned out so cute! I don't have time to post them, but I put one and some collages she made for me on for now. I will try and post them this week. I am sorting through them right now to decide what I like the best. She gave me a CD of them and there are about 400 to go through and I am having a hard time deciding. It's hard when your boys are just so dang cute! :) Well....I think so at least. By the way....thanks Carissa for taking these. I love them!

Cleaning Up Is Hard To Do
Today, my nice friend Jenny came and asked if Jackson wanted to go and play with her son Tanner. I had needed to really deep clean our bathroom, so I thought it was perfect. I spent an hour cleaning just to bring Jackson home and have his wet his pants all over the bathroom floor I just cleaned on my hands and knees.
After showing me, they proceeded to knock it down and 4 hours later, while I type this, all the blocks (along with many other things) still clutter the floor. I may sound bitter, but truthfully, I'm not. It's just another day and if we don't clean it today, we will attempt tomorrow, and if not tomorrow we will for sure do it Saturday. :)
Tonight, I asked my sweet husband if he would help the kids clean up the front room while I finished dinner up. Here was the end product they were so proud of:

Mother of Boys
I have really realized as of late that I am a mother of boys. Up until a few months ago, truthfully, I didn't see a HUGE difference between the two (except when I would change my neice's diaper or something of course). Now, I really see the difference. Last week, the boys and I are sitting down eating breakfast and the following conversation happened:
J: "Mom, I don't play with purses. I'm a boy. I play with transformers."
A: "Where did you learn this Jackson."
J: "Daddy says I don't play with purses. Girls play with purses. Maybe I can play with purses when I become a girl."
A: "Honey, you are a boy and you will not ever be a girl."
J: "YES, I AM."
A: "Um, No, You are not."
J: "I AM."
A: "Let's finish our breakfast and then when daddy gets home we can discuss this further."
Apparently, there are a few girls in his preschool class that really know about gender difference and he has started talking about boys vs. girls a lot more lately. I will note that Mitch claims he never told Jackson he couldn't play with purses. We don't know where he got that from.
Here are some of the ways that I know that I am a mother of boys: Spiderman, Batman, & Superman: yogurt, fruit snacks, underwear, shirts, sippy cups, etc.; playing with "guys," (superheroes), catching bugs, collecting sticks at the park and using them as swords, and I could go on and on. Now, when I babysit girls, I realize that their mothers know they are mothers of girls because they like: dolls, bears, princesses: fruitsnacks, shirts, dresses, bikes, etc.; dress-up, and the biggest thing.....they don't play sticks with Jackson on the playground.
Explanation of Picture: Jackson has been collecting sticks and rocks. His pockets are always packed with rocks and the other day they were so full I knew his pants were going to fall off. Sure enough, he starts screaming from the top of the slide and I look up to see his pants down at his heels. Me, being the mean mom, tells him to come down while I run inside to grab the camera. He comes down off the slide and this was the picture I was able to get. You can tell he wasn't very happy about me taking a picture of this moment.

Jackson and Creighton LOVED to go to "Papa's Place" while we were in Utah. I think we went there almost everyday and sometimes twice a day. Here are a few photos of them there.
