Creighton Graduates from Adventure Pre-School

Creighton graduated from the last class at Adventure Pre-School this morning.
Miss Shirley retired after 38 years of teaching and we are going to miss her.

Creighton was so excited for his last day.
It was cowboy day and he got to bring a lunch which he thought was the coolest thing ever!

 His report card:
 And his diploma:
CreighJay, we are so proud of you.  We know you are going to do awesome at Kindergarten next year!

Loving life today

Mitch got me a bike for my birthday and I am in love.  My sweet next door neighbors are letting us use their tandem bike (see Easton in the back...he is attached to mine) and they gave it to us last summer.  It's only taken us a year to get a bike to use it with, but we finally did it.

Last night we went on our first bike ride. Even though it was just around our neighborhood a few times, it was quite terrifying.  I think my children think that cars are our friends and they won't hurt if they hit us.  They were riding in the middle of the road, not stopping at stop signs, etc.  I spent a good portion of screaming and my heart pounding.  I definitely have some big talks planned about bike safety before our next one.

Today was amazing.  I went for about an hour bike ride with Easton this morning after the big brothers went to school.  It was an awesome work out and he loved it too.  Yay!  I'm one happy mommy.  Too bad Creighton's last day of preschool is today and we went be able to do quite as intensive bike ride anymore, but it will still be fun.

Here is to many, many more bike rides. :)

Some things that have happened

Creighton looked cool in sunglasses.

E and B made an army of guys.

And then Jack and Creigh wanted to take credit for it too.

Creighton performed in a fantastic pre-school program at Wheeler farm.

He was the best dancer.
Had the best moves.
And was the most energetic.

E and B imitated Grandma.

Love how the glasses are a little crooked.

Creighton proved that 2T pants still fit.....as capris.

The boys starred in the new movie Avengers alongside their aunt and uncle and cousins.

Easton became a pirate.

I continue to have fun in my new calling, but hate that the girls always make me be in their ridiculous pictures.
I am getting excited for our totally awesome 80's camp that's coming up (thus the special outfits).

My Sarah's.
They make me drive them around with the music blarring.
They take me back to my teenage years each and every week.

I've been busy.

We build puzzles and sometimes don't get out of our jammies.
Love these days.

E became a secret spy.
McDonald's has provided all of his spy gear.

The boys got to meet some real life Super Heroes and found out that yes, Spiderman is friendly.
Captain America and Batman were friendly too....that could be because they were their uncles.

They have really enjoyed dressing up lately.
Every day.
I am not a fan.
But whatever.

We went to the zoo again.

I think the caurosel is the highlight of the zoo.
It's so lame after you've been to the Omaha zoo.

We participated in our first fun run.

Getting ready to start.

Easton came in 2nd to last, but for a little 3 year old, I was proud of him for running almost a mile.  He looked so cute and when he saw that finish line, his competive nature really kicked in.

The boys with their ribbons.

Turns out Jackson got 3rd!
He was so excited to show off his medal and prized water gun.
His younger brother was not so excited.

Creighton looking cute.

Creighton LOVES Baby Graham.
He always talks about how they share the same middle name.

Easton played in a little house.

Jack hanging out with Graham.
Enjoying the awesome weather for our first BBQ of the season.
We've had a great month.  We are just finishing up a last week(s) of school and we can't wait for summer!

On a side note: All I have to say is........CHECK.  I just checked something off my to-do list.  Woot woot!

Another Year Older

I am officially almost 30.  Crazy.

Picture to document this event:

Oh, and a big shout out to my mom who threw my an amazing bday dinner with one of my favorite desserts...Nothing Bundt Cake.  Then my two sisters made the most amazing dinner for me on my birthday complete with again, on my favorite desserts....a mint cake.

I have the best family in the world.
Next year I'll be 30.  Not quite sure how I feel so we will just have to make this year go slow.  Good luck to me on that.

Life goes on

I hate that I haven't blogged for so long.

Yesterday, our lesson in young women's was on journal keeping.

I have always taken pride in my journal keeping. This has always been something I have been good at.  I have dozens of journals.  I have been great about my blog (which is another form of journal for me).  True, there are some journals from Jr. High I should just burn.  I should have already.  Maybe it would have saved me from the 4 hour silent treatment I received when my dear husband read in my 9th grade journal that I LOVED another boy.  That's right people, I said love.  I was in love a lot back in the day.  Falling in and out almost daily.  However, it hurt my poor husband to read about this undying love I so eloquently expressed in my 15 year old pen.

Thankfully he got over it.  Whew!  So glad he decided to grow up and be almost 30 and not be 15.  So glad.

Anyway, after another nudge/guilt trip from my mother about my lack of blogging, I took it as a sign that although I have a billion and a half things (perhaps and exaggeration) to do, this is important too.

And so the catch up begins.

Get ready for insanely cute photos, stories about my son pooping on my counter top (oh that's right), my other son telling his younger brother about his extreme excitement to grow up and kiss girls, and for me to gush about how super cool and totally awesome my kids are.  I love them btw.  In case I haven't mentioned that before.

So...moving on.

Life goes on in the Evers Household.  We are alive.  Jackson goes to school everyday.  Creighton grows a foot taller everyday (slight exaggeration).  And Easton is in the TRYING threes still.  Oh then there's Mitch and I.  We are here too.  Doing boring things and trying to wear our super mom and dad capes but finding that it usually gets stuck in the door as we head out.  Oh well.  At least we attempt to wear it right?

I have a lot of pictures and videos to document our wearabouts this last month. You will be fascinated by all the things we have seen and done.  Honestly, the thought of waiting the hours for all my photos to upload is exhausting to just thing about.  I will do it though.  I will do it not because you want to see these photos, come on, I know you don't.  But I will do it because my procrastinating and great-intentions sort of self would love to one day get my blog printed in these books I always talk about for my kids to show at the lessons on journal keeping they have to teach to youth one day.  At this less they will show these books and gush about how totally awesome their mom was and how she was such a great example and they will always love her for this.  So yes, the pictures will come.

Need

I need to write on my blog.
I need to do 10 loads of laundry.
I need to fold the load that has been sitting in the dryer for a week.
I need to unload the dishwaser so I can load the dishwasher.
I need to read to my kids.
I need to make sure Jackson does his homework.
I need to stop eating everything I see and find.
I need to organize the swim lesson schedule.
I need to pay our bills.
I need to weed, water my dying grass, and mow the lawn desperately.
I need to be a better visiting teacher.
I need to be there for those that are struggling right now.
I need to sleep.  Why am I so tired?
I need to stretch my legs. Failed to do this after my long run this weekend.
I need to take my bike back to the store and get a new one and actually use it.
I need to make a birthday present for a friend's bday tomorrow.
I need to make a dozen phone calls to take care of things.
I need to do a bizillion things for my business.
I need to make more time for my kids.
I need to simplify my life.

I feel overwhelmed.
I want to be the best mom.
The best wife.
The best daughter.
The best sister.
The best young woman leader.

I want to have a successful business.
I want to be a vampire.
If I was a vampire, I wouldn't need to sleep.

I am thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I am thankful for the reminders it gives me about what is important in life.
I am thankful for my children.
I am thankful for my legs that allow me to run to clear my head.
I am thankful for all the many people in this world that make me happy.

I love my life.
I love my kids.
I love my husband.
I love my family.
I love my Father in Heaven.

I am grateful.
