Picture overload

I took a lot of pictures that first week.  A lot.  I was so enamored it was like I wanted to capture every second.  This little boy was straight from heaven and he was just tender.  I couldn't help grabbing my camera at each and every move.  Here are a few of my favorites from Wilson's first week of life.

My labor story

Our last picture as a family of five.  I was off to make it a family of 6!

I love hearing people's birth stories.  They are always all so different.  Even mine.  Each and every kid is different.

Here is mine with Wilson:

As you saw in a previous post, I really tried to go on my own and I actually thought I was going to.  I was scheduled to be in induced on Friday and starting Thursday afternoon I was having very regular contractions.  In fact, around bed time I thought I was going to need to go in.  I swear, as soon as I decided it "might be time," they slowed down and almost stopped.  Lame.

So, I went to sleep and woke up the next morning to go into the hospital for my induction.

I've decided that I just don't know if my body could progress without an epideral.  They checked me and even after all my contractions I had been having, no progress.  Then I got the epideral and I went to complete an hour and a half later.  So it was a quick 2 1/2 hours labor from the time they hooked me up to pitocin and I delivered.  I was quite pleased with this.

Wilson came out healthy and screaming (always such a relief to hear the scream).  I immediately fell in love.

Wil and I were going to leave the hospital that next day because I felt great, and to save some money, but we ended up having to stay an extra day because I was group B strep positive and I guess you are supposed to have the antibiotics for 4 hours before you deliver and I went a lot faster than they expected so they had to monitor him an extra day.  So they did.  He was healthy and we packed up and headed to our house to introduce Wilson to his home on Sunday, March 24th.

I think he likes it.

We like him.

Introducing: Wilson

On March 22, 2013 my heart grew.  I gave birth to a perfect, beautiful, and cherished little boy.  We named him Wilson.

7 lbs. 10 oz. 21.5 inches

Lots of people came to visit and support us.  Some of Wilson's favorites included daddy, grandma, and brothers.

We are a family of four now and I couldn't be more happy.  Look at those beautiful boys.  They are mine.

My attempts at inducing labor

Here's me pregnant with you Wil.  The day before.

So, I kind of thought it might be cool to know what it felt like to go into labor on my own.  So, I tried some of the methods they claim helped.  I ate spicy food,

got a foot massage,

ate pineapple,
and went and jumped for about a 1/2 hour on an inflatable.

It didn't work.
