Mickey's House
Jackson has been praying for Mickey's house for over 6 months now, and it has finally come and past. It was a lot of fun and Jackson loved that he was tall enough to ride most of the rides. Mitch even stuffed his shoes with napkins so he could ride another one he was just a little too short for. It turns out that I could ride all the kiddie rides, so with Creighton as my ride partner, we had fun too. Mitch and Jackson had so much fun that one day they got there when the park opened, jumped over to two other parks too, and was there until it closed. He loved it! Here are some pictures from the trip.
Highlight for the boys: Meeting Buzz Lightyear
Jackson and Creighton behind bars with the Evil Zurg.
Creighton and Mitch fighting the Evil Zurg.
Aunt Lindsey and Jackson the Buzz Lightyear ride.
Jackson got his face painted like a superhero. He loved it. It looked great until he went on Splash Mountain.
This picture was taken on the teacups during one of Jackson's tantrums. Who knows what it was about. Mitch probably chose the wrong color teacup or something.

The Move and Brothers
THE MOVE: I just wanted to send a quick thank you to the many people who assisted us in our move. I really never thought I was going to be able to pull it off, but because of such wonderful friends and neighbors, it happened, and it happened fast!
Mitch had so much going on with school, so he was no help....(sorry, that sounds harsh honey, but you know it's true) and being in my 8th month of pregnancy, I didn't help either. Luckily my mom was able to come out, who is the biggest lifesaver and THE best mother, and my ward rallied the troops and sent them out to pack and move us. I have to say that the women in our ward did 80% of our moving for us. They were amazing and I have such amazing friends. I had people watching my kids, people packing boxes, people moving boxes, and people bring me dinner. I'm one lucky gal.
We are all settled in now and I am loving all the space. However, the 2 flights of stairs definitely makes it more of a workout. Thanks again to everyone!
BROTHERS: When my mom left to go back to Utah on Tuesday, she took my little Creighton with her. She did this so that I didn't have to fly with both boys to Florida alone since Mitch is flying straight from an arbitration competition in Chicago to Florida. At first I thought this was a great idea. The thought of flying with both boys alone and being 8 months pregnant was stressing me out, and I had a lot of unpacking to do. Plus, it would only be 4 days. However, it has been SO hard and I didn't realize the toll it would take on Jackson. When he found out that Creighton had left, he cried almost that whole day. Anytime anyone even mentioned Creighton, he would cry, "I want Creigh-Jay." Then he would run to our door and try to open it while crying, "Just drop me off mommy, just drop me off at the airport." It was so sad. He has really missed his little buddy and I know Creighton has missed him too. I am thankful for the bond they have and I hope they continue to have that throughout their life. We are SO excited to meet up with Creigh-Jay tomorrow at "Mickey's House!!"

The Haircut
The other day, Jackson came upstairs with hair all over his sweater and said, "Look Mom, Look at my hair." It was quite the hair cut. He cut his hair in about 10 different spots all over his head. Luckily, he mostly just worked on the back of his head and I can comb over the hair in the front to cover the bald spot. Jackson has always been very good about scissors and we've talked about what scissors are for. However, since we just moved, there was a box downstairs that had the hair clippers in it. He luckily couldn't figure out how to use the clippers, but there was a pair of hair scissors in there. Apparently, it's ok to use hair scissors to cut your hair, just not regular scissors. I am just grateful Creighton wasn't with him. That would have been extremely traumatic for me since his hair is longer and I would have for sure had to shave it. I guess I just have to look on that bright side.

Make-up, Potty, and Paper Hats
Here are a few pictures to show what we have been up to the last few days.
Makeup: This is what I just walked in to find a few minutes ago. Jackson went inside to go the bathroom. I guess he had other plans too. That mascara and eye liner have always been tempting and it looks like he just had to give in. I swear, wasn't this supposed to happen during the terrible twos. I know he knows gender differences. I guess we haven't gone over the makeup aspect quite yet. We have now.
Potty: Lately Creighton claims he has to go potty all the time. He goes into the bathroom, lifts up his shirt, stands on his tippy toes, puts the toilet seat down, and flushes the toilet. He obviously doesn't quite understand where the pee-pee comes from, b/c it's not his belly button. However, he always sees his brother lift up his shirt (so he doesn't get it wet) so he is following his example. I know we are still a long way off from potty training, but maybe with Jackson's example he won't be as old as Jackson was.
"Geez Dad, I've always wanted a paper hat:" Mitch promised Jackson that if he kept his toys in the back room while he was on his trip, he would bring him back a special prize. It sure was special! Paper hats he got for free from a restaurant he went to.

Halloween
Halloween is a week-long holiday with many parties and lots of sugar which equals cranky kids. (I DEFINITELY noticed it today.) Jackson and Creighton had so much fun though. Jackson was really into it and when he was "Batman" he actually answered better to "Batman" than to Jackson and I don't think he even meant to on purpose.
Jackson was Batman. His costume consisted of about 4-5 different pieces of my brother's old costumes put together. It was very hodge podge, but he was happy. He couldn't see very well, but it didn't seem to bother him. Creighton was a monkey, however, most people said what a cute bear he was. Whatever. For one of the many parties he was an Incredible. You have to make use of all the costumes.
Mitch had to go out of town this weekend for a negotiation competition so I was flying solo. I am just so thankful it was a gorgeous day and I didn't mind taking the kids trick-or-treating since it was about 70 degrees. We had fun and they did really well except for 2 things: (1) Creighton insisted on carrying his own bag and he was terrible at it. He dragged it the whole time. (2) This is embarrassing even to write, but Jackson through a temper tantrum at one house where they were passing out single Starbursts. He just sat there and looked at them like, "are you kidding me?" As I tried to drag him away he started screaming that he didn't want little Starbursts, he wanted big Starbursts. Awful! You try so hard to not have your kid be "that kid," but he was then. It didn't help that the night before we went trick-or-treating at the law school and they gave out the King Size Starbursts. Spoiled rotten. Anyway, after a few minutes of screaming we were on our way to the next house. Luckily, we didn't have any other outbursts.
We ended the evening with taking their costumes off and sitting at the table eating their pick of 2 treats. All and all, it was a great night. We just wished that Mitch was there.
